Police recover items possibly used in robbery

Detectives have recovered three articles believed to belong to the suspect that were possibly used in the robbery: a crowbar with a red tip, a pair of gloves and a wool hat that were found near the scene Monday morning.

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. -- St. Johns County Sheriff's Office is still looking for a man in connection with a strong arm robbery on Monday morning.
Deputies say the man robbed the Kangaroo in the 2800 block of U.S. 1 South early Monday morning. They say the suspect told the clerk he just lost his job and needed money for his children's christmas presents.
Detectives have recovered three articles believed to belong to the suspect that were possibly used in the robbery: a crowbar with a red tip, a pair of gloves and a wool hat that were found near the scene Monday morning.
The suspect entered the store by prying open a vent on the roof sometime during the early morning hours. He then waited until the clerk arrived to confront her. The suspect is a white man in his mid 20's to early 30"s, 5'5"- 5'7" tall. He was wearing a dark hat, gray plaid shirt, blue jeans and a gray shirt on his face. He did not display a weapon.
