JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- There will be a greater police presence at Jacksonville International Airport in the wake of the shooting at LAX.

Debbie Jones with the Jacksonville Aviation Authority said the airport is not bringing in extra officers, but those that are working will make themselves more visible to make travelers feel at ease.

The FAA has stopped flights preparing to take off for LAX.

The move is not impacting Jacksonville.  Jones says there are no direct flights to or from JIA to Los Angeles.

But Jones says people who are headed to Los Angeles should check the status of their flight.
