Ponte Vedra woman wins $1 million lottery prize

PONTE VEDRA, Fla. -- Buying a scratch-off lottery ticket from a Gate Convenience Store paid off for a Ponte Vedra Woman.

Cynthia Davis, 59, purchased her winning ticket from the Gate Store at 2140 Belfort Road in Jacksonville.

Davis played the lottery's $10 Monopoly™ Millionaire Scratch-Off game.

She chose to receive the winnings in a one-time, lump-sum payment in the amount of $774,601.60.

The Florida Lottery says that  scratch-off ticket sales generate more than $495 million for education a year.

The Monopoly™ scratch-off game's odds of winning the million dollar jackpot are one in 3.34.
