JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A meeting will be held Monday morning to discuss the future of the Supervisor of Elections office location.
The city council is talking about moving the Duval County Supervisor of Elections office or possibly rebuilding it on city property.
Today a meeting will be held to discuss a proposal to price the cost of building a new consolidated supervisor of elections building on the city owned La Villa property.
Next, a lease proposal for renting warehouse space in the Gateway Mall will be discussed. Currently the 50,000 square foot location needs repairs and costs taxpayers $51,000 a month in rent. Too much says Supervisor of Elections, Jerry Holland. "My employees have endured a lot to make elections work, but you're paying top dollar for it and that's the part that's just not right," he says.
Also discussed today are lease proposals for renting warehouse space at One Imeson and the Southgate Shopping Center.
All of this will be discussed and voted on in the meeting this morning at 9 a.m.
