So what he's saying he rather the money go to libraries than to someone who has worked 20,25, or in some cases 30 years hard for the people? After they get done working that many years they should then become homeless and have no retirement? People need to realize when you cut pensions it used be AFTER the CEOS took a 50 percent pay cut not before. A study recently done showed CEOS's in the 70's made 26 times the average employee wage and the companies had good retirement packages. Fast forward to now and they make 200 times the average employee pay and there is only a handful that have decent retirement packages for good employee's. Gee they worth 200 times an average worker now and the worker should not expect retirement the extra money will well spent on the CEO's family and lobbyist's . Go figure. Want fair tax figure out the average home for an average family of 4 costs. Then say that figure is 250,000 add a tax for any home over 350,000 at 2 millage points. Bet you the city council don't want pay their fair share neither do the rich. It falls to the middle class to accept the tax or else.
