JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The man accused of killing a firefighter's wife could be put to death if convicted.

State prosecutors announced they would seek the death penalty against Lance Kirkpatrick. He is suspected in the murder of Kim Dorsey. Investigators believe he killed her in the Southside home where he also served as a handyman.

Investigators say Dorsey was hit with a blunt object during the crime. She was found dead by her husband.

Kirkpatrick did odd jobs for the couple and sometimes even stayed with them.

Curious why is it people rob and murder people such as clerks etc and they never get death penalty, but this guy warrants it? Could it be certain classes in our society get better justice than the rest?
