I believe the source of waste and abusive spending of our taxes starts with our Mayor, his staff and the extra ordinary salaries of city administrators. The solution is not increasing taxes or the milage rate (which is just another name for the many taxes we are charged in Jacksonville), or cutting city safety services, shutting down libraries. Either the mayor sees the light, and cuts his wasteful spending and excessive salaries in HIS office, or he and his political party may have an extremely difficult time fielding any winning candidates. The media has continually turned a blind eye or play down the REAL solutions to our city excessive budget and wasteful spending. Maybe the city council will wake up and CUT the waste in salaries, benefits, and projects which do not directly support the current taxpaying residents of Jacksonville, and use those funds to clean all the cities easements and drainage, remove dead/dying and other trees which are in those easements from causing property damage to Jacksonville citizens. It is mindless to waste money attempting to bring new businesses to the city, without servicing those who DO live here. The mayor does not even want to replace all the deteriorated “Recycle Bins” which reflect the TRUE IMAGE of Jacksonville and our mayors’ concern. Bah!
