Putnam county courthouse evacuated due to suspicious powder
PUTNAM COUNTY, Fla. -- Police evacuated a portion of the courthouse in Putnam County due to a suspicious powder.
Someone found an envelope with a white powdery substance inside on the lower level of the courthouse just before 1 p.m.
The Putnam County Fire Department and a hazmat team responded to test the substance. Authorities say the powder did not appear to be an active biological agent. It's now being analyzed in a lab at the Health Department in Jacksonville.
No one was hurt.
