Rabies alert in Nassau County
FERNANDINA BEACH, Fla. -- There is a rabies alert in Fernandina Beach.
The Nassau County Health Department says a raccoon tested positive for rabies last month.
Health experts tested the raccoon after it had an encounter with a dog in the eastern part of Nassau County.
The health department wants to remind people to make sure their pets are up to date with their rabies shots, and any contact with wild animals should be reported to the health department.
