JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Your First Alert!: the winter storm that's paralyzed parts of Alabama, Georgia and the Carolina's is bringing rain to Jacksonville, Northeast Florida and Southeast Georgia with temperatures cold enough for some light sleet and freezing rain to mix in with the precipitation.
Light rain will continue into early Thursday.  Sleet will mix with the rain at times but with no accumulation.  Temperatures will be very close to 32 degress across Northern & Western Duval County, and it's possible patchy ice could form, especially on a few bridges and overpasses.
Precipitation west and north of Jacksonville into Southeast Georgia will largely be a mix of freezing rain and sleet with a covering possible but light amounts overall.  This is the area that could have more widespread icing since temperatures will be lower.
Anyone traveling north or west should beware of potentially dangerous driving conditions through Thursday morning particularly in areas hard hit Tuesday night -- north on I-95 north of Brunswick, Ga... north on I-75 near and north of Valdosta, Ga... and west on I-10 west of Tallahassee where parts of I-10 have been closed due to ice.

The news is amazing...Its cold outside....The news expects everyone to stay at home. They seem to have the attitude that everyone who drives (and it is just rain) in the cold, will all have a serious crash and all will be injured or die. It ain't true!!!

People, this is a cold front - not an apocalypse. I guess sensationalism sells...
