JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- After a cool Monday morning start, clouds are already increasing across Northeast Florida and Southeast Georgia.

The rain holds off today, though, and with milder afternoon temps (near 70 degrees), it'll be a nice day.

Showers spread from west to east across the area overnight and early Tuesday. Amounts should be around a half inch in Jacksonville.

On Wednesday, a strong cold front will swing through in the afternoon. Winds will be 20-30 mph and temperatures will plummet into Thursday morning.

A freeze is expected inland Thursday morning with upper 20s inland.

Temperatures will remain COLD through the upcoming weekend.
