Rash of crime in westside Jacksonville sparking change
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A rash of crime in a westside neighborhood is sparking a change.
Earlier this month, Elizabeth Melaugh was robbed of her hearing aids.
She wasn't the only on upset by this. Her neighbors were too. Now, they are starting a neighborhood crimewatch.
"The criminal element is aware that there is a neighborhood watch and they can tell when we come by. My biggest advice is to not be scared in your neighborhood," said neighborhood watch facilitator Roseanne Vernon.
Multiple people have also stepped up to help get Melaugh new hearing aids.
