Records: Ex-official's wife says husband shot DA
KAUFMAN, Texas (AP) -- Court records show the wife of a former North Texas justice of the peace has implicated her husband in the shooting deaths of a local district attorney, his wife and an assistant prosecutor.
An affidavit filed Wednesday reveals Kim Williams told investigators a day earlier that husband Eric Williams was the triggerman in the slayings of Kaufman County District Attorney Mike McLelland and his wife Cynthia last month, and assistant prosecutor Mark Hasse.
Kim Williams was arrested early Wednesday and charged with capital murder. Eric Williams has been in custody, charged with making terroristic threats. He has not yet been charged in the slayings.
McLelland and Hasse prosecuted Eric Williams last year for theft of three computer monitors. Williams was convicted and sentenced to probation.
