JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Any fires that develop today will likely spread rapidly. Let's hope that doesn't happen. Drier air and winds have prompted a Red Flag Warning, from noon until 6 PM. It includes Jacksonville.

Winds will be west-northwest at 20 to 30 mph with gusts 35 to 40 mph! Relative humidity values will bottom out around 25% this afternoon.

Georgia is not included in this warning due to abundant recent rainfall.

However, a Wind Advisory is in effect for the entire area of Southeast Georgia and Northeast Florida until 6 PM. A wind advisory is issued when sustained winds of 25 to 39 mph are expected for at least an hour...with gusts of 40 to 57 mph or greater at any time.

Strong winds like these can topple trees and cause small boats to capsize. The winds will ease gradually after sunset and overnight.

Still, with a light breeze Thursday morning, we'll have wind chills in the 20s in some areas inland.

Quiet weather can be expected into the weekend.
