CLAY COUNTY, Fla. -- The Georgia woman accused of conspiring with a prison inmate to conduct a red light ticket scam will appear in court Wednesday morning.

Ashley Dean, 27,  was extradited from Georgia to Clay County on Tuesday.

Dean faces scheme to defraud charges.

Investigators allege that Dean helped her prison inmate boyfriend, Daniel Floyd, in a scam.

Floyd is accused of calling people from inside a Georgia state prison in Pelham on a cell phone he was hiding behind bars. He then allegedly told the people they had to pay a red light camera ticket and demanded prepaid credit payments.

Clay County Sheriff Rick Beseler said Clay County citizen paid about $1,500 to $1,700 in the scheme.

Floyd is charged with impersonating an officer and schemes to defraud. It is not known at this time how long it will take to bring Floyd to Clay County to face charges.

Cell phones are forbidden for inmates in Georgia State Prisons where Floyd is serving 20 years for armed robbery.
