It is very simple, comply completely. Stop well in advance of the light change to red and be slow about leaving so you surely will not get any tickets or struck by those running the light in the other direction. In other words, comply to the letter of the law, give them exactly what they want and then some. Meanwhile they will collect no additional funds and will have to resolve the cost for the cameras without the planned income. If the police would patrol and do their job they would easily find these violators without using cameras. Isn't it interesting how they have cameras in their cars but will vocifierously demand you not photgraph them in the lineof duty or lack thereof. We should all get cameras in our cars and turn the video into the news organizations showing how poorly the police drive, their lack of enforcement, their meeting in packs for what union meetings? You readily see them parked in lonely spots nose to tail talking and not working.

Love the drone comment...lol. I looked at the total list on the sheriffs page, and was surprised to see that one side of town is being hit much harder than all the others. Seems to me we should be installing these fairly, rather than hitting the Atlantic Blvd, Beach Blvd, and Southside Blvd area of town so hard. Don't people speed on the west side of town? I see lots of violations downtown. Just curious as to why we are getting slammed over here. Also...if a city vehicle/service vehicle lights off the camera, do they get a ticket, or are they excused? Because fair is fair.

Pretty soon red light cameras will be obsolete and drones will enforce all traffic laws.

http://www.nj.com/news/index.ssf/2012/11/red-light_cameras_lead_to_more.html http://www.motorists.org/red-light-cameras/increase-accidents Plenty of evidence to suggest that these cameras shouldn't be in our city. When are the sheeple going to wake up and tell the thieves in political power that they've had enough?

JSO does not control the lights and or their timing. That is controled by Streets and Highways.

It's about generating revenue. No one likes people who constantly run red lights, but the idea that is about safety is absurd. Put it to the voters of each county whether they want this kind of facism in their backyards. There have been states when the cammeras didnt bring the money expected tinkered with speed limits and light times as result of the new speed limit to get the "desired income level". Don't say it won't happen. Additionally if they put up 20 red light cammeras in area don't shop at any buisness there and tell them why they are losing your business. I can't afford the sheriff's office auto tickters cost for the road toll. Put it to the voters see how they feel about red light cammeras everywhere all the time.

Why are all the red light cameras only on the southside??? Why aren't where any in the hood?? Can anybody say profiling....More cameras goes up means less cops... RIGHT???

That light has always been short timed in the south direction. So rather than re-time the light, lets screw the people. Good job, JSO.
