JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Friends, family and people from the community are gathering now to say goodbye to Cherish Perrywinkle.

She's the 8-year-old girl kidnapped from a Walmart on Lem Turner one week ago today. Police found her body near a church on Broward Road Saturday morning, hours after an Amber Alert.

Cherish's funeral is taking place at the Paxon Revivial Center Church.

"We're going to make it because we have God on our side," said the church's pastor.

Donald J. Smith, a registered sex offender, is facing charges in her death.

Investigators say he befriended Cherish's mother at a Dollar General store last Friday night, drove her family to Walmart, then lured Cherish with the promise of food from McDonald's before taking her.

Police are searching for a blue tandem baby stroller as part of the investigation.  If you see it, don't touch it and call 911.
