JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Jacksonville's Main Street Bridge is undergoing repairs. The $11.1M project to maintain and increase bridge safety started over the weekend.
Construction will take place at night and on some weekends.
Pedestrian access to the bridge will be restricted until the project is finished.
Single lane closings will be allowed between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m.
Full bridge and directional closures will be between 6 p.m. and 6 a.m. except on Wednesday and Sunday nights when they will begin at 9 p.m.
There will be about 25 weekends when the bridge will be fully closed from 9 p.m. on Friday until 6 a.m. on Sunday.
The project is expected to be completed in Spring 2015.
