BRUNSWICK, Ga. -- Glynn County Commissioner Tom Sublett, found bound and shot last year, likely took his own life, Action News has learned.

The medical examiner for the Georgia Bureau of Investigation shared the findings with Sublett's family, saying his death is consistent to a suicide.

The official report is due out anytime.  The Sublett family attorney, Mark Johnson, told Action News he strongly disagrees with the report.

The GBI tells Action News the death investigation is still ongoing.

Police found Sublett's body last December in the water at the St. Simons Island Boating & Fishing Club.

The autopsy report ruled the cause of death for Sublett was drowning with a gunshot wound. The manner of death had yet to be determined until now.

I mean I have experienced a few suicide's of a few people I knew and most they did it in an 'desperate last moment 'explosion' for a lack of a better word atm.. They usually to not plan it and THEN carry thru. A woman I knew in Savannah, married a bum, and after her daddy built her a million dollar house stocked with antiques from all over the world, she filled up the tub and 'wraps' a dry towel around her head and THEN blows her brains out? I always heard the mob would wrap a towel to 'muffle' the sound. She had promised her mother she would never kill herself, so even if she didn't keep her promise, why the towel? Making a mess would be the last thing on my mind if I was that ill to try to kill my self. money and greed

I'm with the attorney on this one. Why would ANYONE who wanted to kill them self with a gun, have his hands tied and bound? It makes no sense.
