Jacksonville, FLA. - The 3rd Street Diner is located on 9th Avenue South in Jacksonville Beach. The restaurant is celebrating its eleventh year in business. The owner wasn't in when we stopped by but one worker was quick to tell us, "I have nothing to hide... we have nothing to hide... go around and look!"

We wanted to take a look around after the most recent health inspection report. 3rd Street Diner had nine high priority violations including:

A dead roach found in the employee bathroom (it was cleaned up)
An employee who didn't wash their hands before putting on gloves to work with food
There were temperature issues with bread pudding and cheese cake
Cole slaw and cream cheese had to be placed in an ice bath for temperature issues

The restaurant dining room and kitchen all looked clean to us. The worker we talked to says there's one reason why they've been in business for more than a decade. She says, "W
e have the best food in Jax.

Other restaurants at the top of the high priority list this week include:

At The Jeepney Stop Oriental Fast Food on Argyle Forest Boulevard in Jacksonville there were seven high priority violations including a stop sale issued on some food for temperature abuse.

At Matanzas Innlet on South A1A in Saint Augustine there were six high priority violations including rice in the cooler that had to be thrown out because of temperature issues.

The following restaurants had zero violations and earn our clean plate award:

Mediterrean & Persian Catering Service: Orange Park
San Marco Theatre: Jacksonville
Fig Tree Inn: Jacksonville Beach
Sunrise Cafe at Flamingo Lake: Newcomb Road Jacksonville
Cowboys Hot Dogs: Newcomb Road Jacksonville
