JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Aw Shucks is an oyster bar, grille and arcade located on Old Saint Augustine Road in Jacksonville. Jodi, the manager, came up to meet us when we walked in. She told us to wait while she spoke to the owner on the phone.

Here is what we found in the state's latest health inspection report for Aw Shucks.

Seven high priority violations including:

Employees touching ready to eat food with their bare hands
Temperature issues - baked potatoes had to be rapidly re-heated to the proper temperature
A warning was issued for live flies in the kitchen

When Jodi came back from speaking with the owner, she told us he said all the violations had been taken care of.

We asked to see inside the kitchen. Jodi replied, "No, he does not want anyone in the kitchen... he doesn't feel we have anything to show you." Jodi went on to explain the state health inspector was just out again and she and that everything passed inspection.

We did a little more digging and found - that's not true. The state health inspector did go back to Aw Shucks three days after the first inspection. One high priority violation was still an issue. Another warning was given for live flies in the kitchen.

Jodi told us the owner wants customers to know this, "You have nothing to worry about, that's for sure. We have a clean record."

Here are the other restaurants at the top of the list this week for high priority violations.

Ronnies Diner on Mount Vernon Street in Glen Saint Mary had six high priority violations. A stop sale was issued on watermelon because it had mold growing on it

At Dick's Wings on San Juan Avenue in Jacksonville, there were also six high priority violations including an employee who washed their hands without soap after handling raw chicken.

The following restaurants had zero health violations and get our clean plate award of the week!

Shula's Bar & Grill: Yankee Clipper Drive
Delta Sky Club: Yankee Clipper Drive
Jez Frenz: Beaver Street
