Jacksonville, FLA. - Efes Pizza and Grill is located on Baymeadows Road in Jacksonville. The state health inspector issued an emergency order at the restaurant recently and temporarily closed it down. Here's what we found in the state health report:
Two high priority violations for live and dead roaches near the pizza to-go boxes. The owner of the restaurant, Khalid Lahmeur, says they realized they had a problem when a customer made a complaint with the state after finding a roach inside a pizza box. Lahmeur says, "We got the problem fixed in just a few hours. The pest control company has been here a lot in the last three to four months. The pest control came back the next morning and then the health inspector came and everything was fine. They are coming again next week to make sure."
Other restaurants at the top of the high priority list this week include:
At Kan-ki Japanese Steakhouse on Southside Boulevard in Jacksonville there were seven high priority violations including employees touching ready to eat food with their bare hands.
At Palatka Buffet on Reid Street in Palatka there were six high priority violations including salmon that had not undergone proper parasite destruction.
