Jacksonville, FLA. - Green Tea is a Chinese Restaurant located on San Jose Boulevard in Jacksonville. We found 27 violations in the state health inspection report this week. Seven of those violations were high priority including:
A stop sale issued on potentially hazardous food
Egg rolls held for more than 24 hours without proper date - cooked twice a week
An employee didn't wash their hands before working with food
No certified food manager for the restaurant or proof of employee training
Owner Duan Chen tells us he has been in business for ten years. He then told us, "I'm too busy.. I don't have... My manager is not certified. We make fresh egg rolls two times a week most restaurants only do it once per week. Sometimes our employees do not wash their hands - but only sometimes. Customers who know us know we do very good."
The Red Frog & Mctoads Grub & Pub in St. Augustine and Fat Jacks Smoke Stack BBQ in Baldwin rounded out the top three restaurants with the most number of critical violations this week. The Department of Business & Professional Regulation tells Action News, Fat Jacks in Baldwin has been sold. It is under new ownership, and is now known as Baldwin Barbecue, effective March 8th.
Congratulations to the following restaurants - they had zero health violations and get our clean plate award of the week!
