Jacksonville, FLA. - At the top of the 'critical' list this week is Ken's BBQ East. There are three Ken's BBQ locations in Lake City. The one the health inspector visited this week is located on State Road 100.
The inspector found 13 violations. Five of them were high priority - meaning they could make customers sick.
The violations include:
Non-food grade containers used for storing food in the freezer
A toxic substance or chemical wasn't properly stored
Pork used for the beans was held at a hazardous temperature
Ken's BBQ Owner, Corey Bannister wants his customers to know this, "We are hometown folks who do the best we can. We do our best to comply with the health inspector. Our customers know us very well and they know how we operate. We're very clean!"
La Cocina International in Saint Augustine and Ellen's Kitchen in Jacksonville Beach rounded out the top of the list for the restaurants with the most number of critical violations.
