Jacksonville, Fla. - Mt. Fuji also known as Fuji Sushi sits in the heart of San Marco. It's a popular spot for rolls and hibachi. The state health inspector found 24 critical violations here including rodent droppings on a shelf with clean dishes and droppings by the sink, an employee washing their hands with no soap and tilapia being thawed in the hand wash sink. We asked the manager about all the violations, "Is there anything you would like to say?" He replied, "No. I can't comment.". We asked, "Can you show us inside the kitchen?" He said, "No, I can't." We asked, "Why not?" He then replied, "Like I said that is for the owner to show you." We asked the manager to call the owner and ask for permission for us to see inside the kitchen and he replied, "No, I can't. No comment." You can see the entire report for Fuji Sushi by clicking here.

Here are the other restaurants at the top of the list this week for critical violations.

The Reef restaurant in Saint Augustine had 16 critical violations including small flying insects in the bar area and live flies in the pantry. You can see the full report by clicking here.

At Pulp in San Marco there were 15 critical violations including an expired license and no certified food manager. You can check out thatreport here.

Congrats to our only clean plate award of the week!
