Did someone come into the owner's fenced yard and attack their dog? If so that SOB should be shot not jailed. On the other hand and not to condone such a violent act on this poor dog but if that dog was loose and roaming the streets, then people do have the right to protect their pets and property by whatever means they find necessary. Just this week I saw someone's rather large pit bull loose and chasing a neighbor's cat around their yard and up a tree, had that been my cat there would be one less pit bull in the world today. Sadly, especially these days there are way too many people who own pets but do not give them proper care, hell most of these people don't even give their kids proper care, thus our current crime rate. Fact is these people should be held accountable when their pet does damage to someone else's pet, I'm just not 100% sure that is the case here, as based on what I've seen on TV this dog looks like it would make a wonderful pet. Then like people looks can be deceiving as I've owned a few pits who were great with people but couldn't be trusted around other animals. Simple truth is I do hope they catch the person responsible for this act, if only so we get to hear both sides of the story. I also hope they find the dogs owner and if their dog was roaming the streets, then they should be required to reimburse the city for every penny the city spent towards the dogs care and they should be fined for breaking city codes. Most dogs give their owners unconditional love, just sad that some owners can't return the favor.

Lucky to not have neurological damage? Are you serious? This animal will remember this for the rest of his life!!!! Are we (humans) so arrogant? That we think these animals don't have minds? That they don't recall? This poor dog WILL remember, and I can only pray that if he/she sees this same person again, will attack the said assailant!
