ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. -- The reward has been increased to $3,000 for finding the person who shot a bald eagle.
The wounded bald eagle, named "Justice" by one of the people who found it, died earlier this week during its recovery at St. Johns Veterinary Hospital.
The bald eagle was initially found on the side of the road in Palm Coast last week.
Florida Fish & Wildlife and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife each offered a $1,000 reward in the case.
An anonymous donor added $1,000 to the reward this week to bring the total to $3,000.
