JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A fire in the Ambassador Hotel in downtown Jacksonville has streets shut down.
According to fire investigators, they received reports of smoke coming from the fourth floor of the abandoned hotel around 3 p.m. Monday.
Several units with Jacksonville Fire & Rescue responded, forcing a two-block radius of the building to be shut down for the equipment.
JFRD reports that the source of the smoke is under control, but they have to check floor by floor to make sure the building is secure.
JFRD says it has received reports of homeless people living in the hotel.
