JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio will push to defund Obamacare during a stop in Jacksonville on Monday, according to the senator's senior staffers.

Rubio is schedule to speak in front of invited guests and Rotary Club members at the Omni Hotel in Downtown Jacksonville around 11:30 a.m.

In a recent press release,  Rubio said "defunding Obamacare is a critical first step, and this September, we need the American people to stand with us in demanding that not another cent be spent on implementing Obamacare."

Monday's event is not open to the public.

Rubio is pandering for votes for his next election and it will backfire on him. The Affordable Care Act is not the perfect solution to the current healthcare financing mess, but it is a huge step in the right direction -- it forces deadbeats and freeloaders to take responsibility for their own health care and actions by purchasing health insurance. Frankly, the GOP missed the boat by not fighting to force deadbeats and freeloaders to pay more when they use their "free will" to act like idiots or criminals and abuse the system. Contrary to GOP propaganda Obamacare implements many measures to reduce costs and overbilling, such as the ongoing rebates to policy holders who are overcharged under the 80/20 provision. It's time for self-professed "conservatives" to understand facts, get real and stop blaming liberals and others for the long list of failed policies implemented by conservative politicians.

A little clarity here! nativejax…The taxpayers are not footing my bill. My insurance is now (because of the O care) covering these services. I am a taxpayer, and I, like you, are irritated and frustrated by all the freeloaders in this society. Sounds to me like all of your sound bites came out of the mouth…er…A$$ of Limbaugh! And btw, been post menopausal for about 13 years now. Never had any kids…Never wanted any kids…Now old enough to be a grandparent. And enjoying retirement and life!

We'll see, t....Check back on your comments in 2 years and let us know how well it's all working out for you. How your 'NO EXTRA CHARGE', 'NO OUT OF POCKET' EXPENSES, etc. #1. Can you say "TAXPAYER DOLLARS"? #2. Who in the H311 do you think is going to pay all this when the Payers leave the BloodSuckers to fend for themselves? You will be paying dearly when the IRS sucks the payment out of you. Beware.

@nativejax & wishmistress…I assume you both are women? "Obama care" has thus far done more for women in this law that has been passed! My Well Women exam…ie: Pap smear, Breast exam, Mammography, Birth Control(if you are of that age) has been taken care of!!! At no extra charge! No out of pocket expense! Unlike a few years ago, when a Co-Pay would have been necessary!!!! All because of the Affordable Health Care Act! ie: Obama Care! God forbid!!!@wishmistress... It's about CONTROL!?!?!? So be it! This has saved me $$$'s!!!

You said it for me again wishmistress...Right on both counts.. But you can'y tell that bleeding heart liberal tlynn anything, He/She just wants to argue with misguided delusional "Promises of Change', Obama is still shoving in their 'uninformed idiots' voters heads. the low information voters are getting a 'rude' awaking and they think arguing their version of the facts will make it come true. $40 BILLION in foodstamps up on the chopping block...how she going to eat when the ax falls? Thank God I'm a country girl.

As far as Rubio goes, I think Ted Cruz would be a much better choice in '16. Rubio is too soft on too many issues, including Illegal Immigration.

tlynn...apparently you haven't done your homework on 'ObamaCare'. This 'health bill' is packed so full of pork bs it's ridiculous! This bill is not about providing health care. It's about CONTROL. If you think you're tired of spending money on the uninsured NOW, just wait. I'm afraid you have a rude awaking in store for you. There is not enough time or space to go into all of the devastation that is coming, but I suggest you start reading the bill. I, for one, have already gone to the defundit site.
