SWAT call out in residential area on the Southside

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Several blocks of Newtown Road on the Southside were shut down Saturday due to a woman who refused to come out of her house.

Members of the JSO SWAT eventually made contact with the woman after she made threats to harm herself.

The unidentified woman was Baker Acted by police.

All roadways on the Southside have reopened.

DUH...the last I heard it is still against the law to threaten to kill or harm one self. Like it or not...they are just doing their job, upholding the law.

Only in the land of the free and the home of the brave do we call on the SWAT team to remove people who don't want to come out of their homes. I wonder when it became against the law to stay inside? Or maybe Jacksonville's Goon Squad has once again gone too far, thinking they've got the right to pry people from their homes.
