SWAT standoff suspect identified
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The man arrested after a standoff that ended with a house fire made his first court appearance Friday afternoon.
Police and the SWAT team responded to the 1200 block of Woodruff Avenue on the Westside around 5 p.m. Thursday. Police say the standoff began after they went to the home earlier in the afternoon in reference to a sexual abuse investigation.
After several hours, police noticed the house was on fire. Police believe Mykhail Abordi started it. They say the smoke filled the home forcing Abordi out, that's when he was taken into custody.
Abordi was charged with Sexual Battery to an adult and Aggravated Assault. He is currently being held at the Duval County Jail.
