Sandbags for St. Johns, Nassau, Bradford homeowners

ST.JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. -- County leaders are preparing for heavy flooding from Tropical Storm Andrea.

The Division of Road and Bridges in St Johns County is setting up sandbag locations for the public at several locations until 5:30 p.m. today.

Those areas include:
  • Under the Palm valley bridge
  • St. Johns Mills Field overflow parking area at 1805 Racetrack Road

There is a 50 bag limit.

Free sandbags are also available at Bailey Rd, Hilliard Yard and Mickler Street for Nassau County residents.

Sandbags are also available and will be filled at the Starke City Hall on Thompson Street in Bradford County.
Leaders there do not expect a widespread flood event, but owners of homes that are most susceptible to flooding can go to City Hall for assistance with sandbags.

If anyone receives flooding or any damages, call 9-1-1.
