JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- More than 600 teens and young adults were seen bolting from a riot scene outside of the Hollywood Theater.

Troubled, misguided even, that's what Leaders with Operation Save Our Sons is calling them.

The group was in court today to support the families of the five suspects and request that they be released to their eight-week program.

"The program is going to focus on anger management and then conflict resolution, so when I find myself in this situation how do I respond," said the Rev. Scott Cotton.

Police say 18-year-old Jaquade Miller swung at an officer with a closed fist while they were trying to subdue the crowd.

Cotton says the program teaches young men how to react in a situation like what happened Christmas night but also teaches them accountability.
Miller has agreed to the help and the judge ordered that he must be accompanied by an adult at all times, unless it's for an activity related to the program.

"Hopefully we can get their attention and actually get to the root of why they act the way they act," said Brace Taylor, treasurer of Operation Save Our Sons.

Curious what would where would been Save Our Sons if it had been 6 white boys arrested? I hear excuses for Trayvon Martin criminal activities so bad that even the prosecution had to cover them up and destroy them in order to try and get a conviction on George Zimmerman. These boys are headed for the same thing. People come to their rescue and they refuse to straighten up. What then? Part the problem that's been around for long time every young black man thinks he's going be the next sport super star. Fact is for every 1 black sports star there is 25,000 other young black men that will never make it. When that doesn't pan out then try other things including gangs to get ahead in life. Lack respect for anyone and everyone. Play your music loud, start fights, rob, and kill people. Some the smarter ones will pick convenience store clerks and pizza delivery drivers so they only get 10 or 15 years jail time for killing them. Sad but true.

Why is it so obvious to the people who is doenst need to be obvious too? Everyone who isnt a black parent(AND OF COURSE NOT ALL BLACK PARENTS ARE NOT INVOLVED OR CARING FOR THE LOVE OF GOD PEOPLE, GET REAL WHEN FOLKS SAY STUFF THAT IS GENERALIZATIONS) and black parents who are parents look in for 2 seconds and say "these kids act like animals because they raise themselves, or TV raises them or schools are supposed to raise them". BLACK SPERM DONERS AND SPERM RECEPRATCLES: IF YOU DONT WANT TO TAKE CARE OF THE OUTCOME OF YOUR 5 minutes of "love in the club" WRAP IT OR JUST DONT DO IT, have some pride and stop acting like animals yourselves or there is no hope for your offspring or your race eventually... the nonsense cant go on forever and we as a society cant deal with your lack of responsibility or caring forever. Shortsighted stupidity is no excuse for why YOUR life sucks and has to affect mine. STOP BEING A CANCER AND BECOME PART OF THE CURE... we have tried to help, wihtout your buy in and help as well this CANNOT and WILL NOT EVER be better. Come on, step up and be an American, lets make this country strong and proud again... stop CHITTING WHERE YOU EAT, its that simple.

"Hopefully we can get their attention and actually get to the root of why they act the way they act," said Brace Taylor, treasurer of Operation Save Our Sons. Really? Get to the root of why they act as they do? What the what? As Truthseeker commented~"SOS is NOT a replacement for responsible parenting." I am exhausted with the same "reasons" of bad behavior and choices. Many of us did not have the support of a father growing up. We make our choices and as difficult as the situation was, we KNEW what we were NOT going to become. Punks, thugs, criminals, single parents, reliant on freebies. ENOUGH of the pity party, oh woe is me I have no opportunities. Really? This has been spinning out of control for at least 3 generations. Going on the 4th. In a few days the year in our Lord, 2014 will arrive. What can "we" the general public "expect" to see happening within the community that these SOS men are serving? It is not only the males of this community, but the females need guidance to see they have many choices vice that of procreation with what I would consider undesirable "mates." They need to stand up and be strong helping their "sisters" to want more than several baby daddies, WIC, EBT, food stamps, etc. STAND UP WOMEN~You have to be the guiding lights for your brethren.

Save Our Sons is not a replacement for responsible parenting - assuming that the parents even stuck around after the son's birth.
