Scammers target JEA customers

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – JEA has a warning about a scam targeting its customers.

Crooks are telling people that President Obama has approved special funding for help paying utility bills.

JEA says it’s a scam and there’s no such funding.

Instead, JEA says the scammers are getting a hold of personal information including social security numbers.

The scams have also been reported in several other states.
