MOORE, Okla. -- It's scene after scene of destruction in Moore. Homes destroyed, cars smashed, and storefronts shattered. At this point, survivors aren't even thinking about recovery: they're simply in a state of shock, wondering how they made it out alive.
While rescuers go building by building making sure there are no more victims, residents are picking up the little that's left behind.
Longtime Oklahomans like Vivian Morris know what it's like to live in tornado alley but say this is the worst they've seen. even worse than the monstrous ef-5 twister in 1999.
"When they say it's a war zone, it's a war zone." said Morris.
Kelli Jones saw Monday's tornado from her car's rearview mirror and managed to drive to safety in the opposite direction. Jones has lived in Moore all her life and agrees this is the most devastation a storm has left here.
