JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The Duval County School Board and the Duval Teachers United union collaborated together to reach an agreement on a 3-year contract for July 2011 to June 30, 2014.

The proposal includes a $900 bonus for the 2011 school year, a step increase or $500 for those at the top of the salary schedule in 2012/2013; and, if possible, a step increase or $500 for those at the top of the salary schedule in 2013/2014.

There will be no increase to the employee non-contributory health care plan, and the co-payment for services will stay unchanged.

The language of the tentative agreement must be ratified by the School Board and a majority of the members of  Duval Teachers United prior to final execution.
