PALATKA, Fla. -- It's back to school for students in Putnam County, and many sixth graders will see a lot of changes this year.
A school in Palatka named C.L. Overturf Jr. 6th grade center brings all sixth graders in Palatka into one school.
The superintendent of Putnam County schools Phyllis Criswell said this center will allow students to adjust more comfortably to middle school.
More than 380 students are already registered for the first day.
The assistant principal thinks more students will be enrolled as the year goes on.
School officials tell Action News this isn't the only change this year.
Students at C.L. Overturf will also have the chance to enroll in their Cambridge Advanced Studies Program.
This program will offer more intense courses and school work, and prepare students for college.
