GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- The search for a missing college student from the University of Florida will be scaled back.
Christian Aguilar, 18, hasn't been seen since the night of September 20 when he got into a fight with Pedro Bravo.
The Gainesville Police Department is closing its volunteer check-in post on Friday evening. At that time, the GPD will no longer be coordinating a volunteer portion of the operation.
Ben Tobias, a spokesman for the police department, said in a statement that "additional areas will continue to be searched by officers and other personnel that are specially trained in search and recovery."
Bravo is now in jail, charged with murder, even though Aguilar's body has yet to be found. Investigators say he bought duct tape and a shovel in the days before Aguilar disappeared.
