NASSAU COUNTY, Fla. -- Deputies are still searching for Delbert Johnson, according to the Kingsland Police Department. Johnson held Danielle Gash and her daughter hostage for 24 hours.

Gash and her daughter escaped from Johnson's home Wednesday after a 24-hour ordeal.

Gash told Action News' Amanda Warford she went to her ex-boyfriend Delbert Johnson's Kingsland home to collect some of her things. When she did, she says Johnson took her keys and her phone and refused to let the mother and daughter leave.

Gash says Johnson only allowed her to text her mom, but told her what to say in the conversation.

Wednesday, Gash says Johnson drove the pair to Macon to see his dad. When they returned to Kingsland she resisted going back inside Johnson's home. That's when Gash says a detective showed up at the home. She grabbed her daughter and ran to safety.

Action News has reached out to both the Nassau and Camden County Sheriff's Offices for more information on the case. As soon as we learn more we will bring it to you.
