JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Amber Bass, 22, was shot and killed in her sister's driveway on the Westside.

Jillian Berrios, 27-year-old mother of two, was shot and killed in her car in Orange Park.

Both women were innocent victims of unsolved crimes.

Berrios's friend, Melissa Blount, said, "People liked them.  These weren't bad people."

Since Berrios was killed three months ago, Blount has worked to rally the community in the hopes of finding her friend's killer.

"I'm doing this because she would do it for me," she said.

This weekend, she'll team up with Bass' family to spread the word that killers walk our streets.

"It's gun violence," she said. "We're trying to get the communities together so that everybody can be made aware.  And let's find some of these people."

She knows someone knows something.  And she prays someone will speak up, so the families of the young women don't have to spend the rest of their lives wondering what really happened to them.

Blount pointed to a picture of Berrios' children and said, "Nobody even has to know. But these kids will know. At least these guys will get to know what happened to their mom."

A vigil for the victims will be held at 5:30 p.m. Sunday on the corner of U.S. 17 and Loring Avenue in Orange Park.

Anyone with information about any unsolved murder in Jacksonville can call Crime Stoppers at 866-845-TIPS.
