JACKSONVILLE, Fla. --  Enrollment in the new Affordable Care Act exchanges is just weeks away.

President Obama, therefore, sent a member of his cabinet to the River City Monday to discuss enrolling thousands of Northeast Florida's uninsured.

Kathleen Sebelius, U. S. Secretary of Health and Human Services, met with Jacksonville Mayor Alvin Brown and other community leaders Downtown at the Sulzbacher Center to discuss ways to attract subscribers to the new health care exchanges.

"What has to happen now is real conversation," Sebelius told Action News,

"Reaching out to people who can really have health care security for the first time ever in their lives."

Enrollment in the new health care exchanges begins in October and runs through March.
