JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- New information in a crash on the Southside. A second person has now died from his injuries.
Family members tell us Michael Linder was driving the truck last night. His family members tell us they took him off life support Tuesday. He is the second victim in the crash. Megan Bunn also died from her injuries at the hospital.
They are the last pictures friends will remember. Their friends with smiling faces, laughs and happier times. Now these friends are picking up what's left of the truck two of their friends died in. "It's hard to see where they died, and hard to be at the hospital," said Virginia Carroll.
She fought back tears as she talked about Megan Bunn and Michael Linder. The teens all grew up together. "I just lost my two best friends," said Carroll.
Linder was driving his pick-up down Phillips Highway last night. Megan was in the front seat. Three other friends were also in the car. They smashed head-on into an ambulance. FHP says the ambulance turned in front of the truck, but they don't know yet who was at fault. They say Linder may have gone through the red light. Hs friends say he was always known for crazy driving. "We warned them if you don't shape up driving you're going to get in an accident and they always laughed and said no it won't happen. Now we're here today and it did happen," said Carroll.
The five other people injured in the crash were all taken to area hospitals with non life threatening injuries.
