Sentencing delayed for former leader of Allied Veterans
SEMINOLE COUNTY, Fla. -- The sentencing for one of the suspects accused in the Veterans Charity Scandal was delayed Monday morning.
Jerry Bass, a former top commander for Allied Veterans of the World was scheduled to be sentenced around 8:30 a.m.
Action News was told the judge pushed back Bass' sentencing date to Feb. 12, 2014.
Bass and dozens of other people used the charity to siphon money for themselves, prosecutors said.
Bass pleaded no contest to two felony counts of operating a lottery back in August.
Within that plea deal, 198 other charges were dropped.
