Serial bank robber arrested
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office says they have arrested the man connected to multiple robberies around town.
JSO says 44-year-old Robert K. Claiborne is the man responsible for seven bank robberies since July of 2013.
Officers say Claiborne has worn a wig and sunglasses as a disguise.
JSO says Claiborne was caught after he tried to rob the Suntrust Bank on North Main Street.
Officers say Claiborne tried to escape in a gold Toyota but police caught up with his vehicle.
They say from there, they chased him on foot until he was caught and arrested.
This isn't Claiborne's first run-in with the law.
JSO says Claiborne has robbed banks in New Orleans.
Officers say Claiborne is being charged with two counts for bank robberies and another five charges are pending more investigation.
JSO says from the seven robberies, he was able to gain around $30,000.
