JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Big changes are happening for the Jacksonville Jaguars. In the last week, Shad Khan has made some major decisions for his franchise.

Action News is the only news team to catch up with owner Shad Khan as he was walking into the stadium, to ask him about his plans for the future of this team. "These are tough, these are expensive but I think I feel I have to do the right thing for the team, the city, and this is the direction we have to move in," says Khan.

His new direction started last Monday, when he fired general manager Gene Smith. It continued with hiring new general manager David Caldwell Wednesday, which led to coach Mike Mularkey getting fired. "It was a really hard, tough decision but we need a clean slate here moving forward. That was David's decision and I support that," says Khan.

Then I asked him about this.. "As far as Tim goes, he is a member of the New York Jets. So, I can't imagine a scenario where he would be a Jacksonville Jaguar," says Jaguars new GM David Caldwell. "I think that was very very important to get it out. Get it out of the way yesterday and really move on from there," says Khan.

All decisions he says will make for a winning team next season. "I think winning a sustainable organization for the long haul," he says.

Khan says even though the Jaguars ended their season 2-and-14, the fan support was amazing, and he hopes it continues to grow through all of these changes.
