City Councilman Don Redman is trying to stop concerts from happening in Met Park. What will pay the taxes for the park with no events in it? http://www.causes.com/causes/810291-no-more-concerts-at-met-park-please-don-t-ignore/actions/1723303

They spend $300 million on a $45 million Courthouse that can't pass inspection. That would have paid the $6 million short-fall for these officers for 50 YEARS !!! FIRE ALL WHO ARE INVOLVED AND TAKE AWAY THEIR PENSIONS AND SEIZE THEIR ASSETS !!!

"Tax payers are tired of inflated property taxes and the waste in city hall, when the citizens need fire, police, and overdue maintenance in the entire city as the top priority. Jacksonville needs "Real" and Conservative leaders to fix existing shortcomings in the city. " Well put, Papakilo. Can you believe how they're cutting back AGAIN with the public libraries, and now this awful, awful cutback on the police and firemen! Where are these people's heads at? How does someone that inept get to the top of the chain?

Taking money away from an already impoverished public library system, and getting rid of MUCH NEEDED POLICE OFFICERS is NOT how to fund other city projects. How about if we get rid of all the locks on your doors and windows, and make your bank account number exposed to everyone? Don't like THAT idea, huh? Do you get the picture? Take money away from some of these city workers who won't get off their rears long enough to earn their paychecks. Trim down the budget for improving downtown. Cut down the extremely high salaries of some of the city's CEOs. But no, just like most democrats, anything the party does is ok, and fine, and just dandy. So blind.

Maybe Mayor Alvin Brown is reducing the police force so he can more easily smuggle cocaine and heroin into the Port of Jacksonville. Please keep your eyes ,ears and noses wide open if you work at or near the Jax ports !!!

I just went online and took a quick look at Jacksonville's Comprehensive Annual Financial Reports. Right off-the-bat I seen $2.6 billion in LIQUID INVESTMENTS !!! And you believe these criminal politicians can't come up with $6 million ? Sheriff Rutherford can't be that STUPID !! He's involved in the BROWN/Brown criminal activity. JAIL FOR THEM ALL.DON'T LET THEM MAKE FOOLS OUT OF YOU ANYMORE !!! OR STEAL YOUR MONEY AND YOUR KID'S MONEY/EDUCATION/FUTURE !!!!

The Mayor should be ashamed of himself. The safety of the taxpayers should be his PRIME concern, not the "improvement of the city or bringing in new companies". If funds are tight, then I believe he should look at his bloated staff and all the administrators who make over $100,000.00 a year and start cutting back on benefits his staff and city administrators receive. Tax payers are tired of inflated property taxes and the waste in city hall, when the citizens need fire, police, and overdue maintenance in the entire city as the top priority. Jacksonville needs "Real" and Conservative leaders to fix existing shortcomings in the city. The elected politicians in Jacksonville need to learn to cut back spending, reduce taxes, and do more with less money and administrative personnel. Just like the citizens in Jacksonville.

Where should the money come from ? The city can not print it like the federal government and the JSO is 1/3 of our budget. pensions are eating us alive. Sooner or later we have to make hard choices if we had not spent 350m on a state court house. Woulda coulda shoulda Time to pay the piper.
