JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A man was hospitalized after being shot in front of his North Jacksonville home.

The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office was called to a home in the 5100 block of Paris Avenue on Thursday night after reports of gunshots being heard in the area.

The victim told police he was sitting on his porch when another man walked up, fired 10 rounds at the victim and the victim's home. The victim was hit once in the leg and was taken to the hospital as a precaution. There were other adults in the home at the time but no one else was hit.

Police say the victim doesn't know who shot him or why.

The investigation is ongoing. No other details were released.

at least 25 dead & climbing !!! since july 1st... where's jesse ??? where's rev. al ??? where's the no justice, no peace crowd ??? guess so long as its brother on brother killing,, its okey dokey ??? haven't heard a one that was stand your ground,, mostly at night,, and still no media coverage like we had with trayvon ??? guess the media thinks it isn't worth detailing this brother on brother zipping that's taking place ??? because every night,, the news gives a 15 second spot to who got killed the previous day & on to sports & weather for 5-10 minutes !!! so i gather we should simply turn a blind eye to all the killing in j'ville,,, and go on with our lives,,, seeing how no one cares ???
