JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A snake caused the lights to go out at the St. Johns Town Center today, according to a spokesperson for the outdoor mall.

The snake got into a power station at JTB and Gate Parkway and caused the disruption.

Keith, an Action News Viewer, sent us a photo of the Dillards department store with the lights out. He told us his mother was out shopping when the power outage happened. He said it was total darkness for about 30 seconds before the emergency generator kicked in.

JEA says the lights are back on, and the snake didn't survive.

Where's PETA when you need them? We should get rid of this nasty old electricity that is killing reptiles.
