JACKSONVILLE, Fla -- A large area of rain with a few thunderstorms will move from the Eastern Gulf and west coast of Florida eastward across much of metro Jacksonville, Northeast Florida and Southeast Georgia this evening. Although the heaviest rain will fall south of Jacksonville -- and there will be an overall weakening trend through the night -- everyone will get at least some rain. Duval County/metro Jacksonville will average a quarter of an inch or less of rain...a quarter to a half inch, possibly as much as three-quarters of an inch south of Jacksonville from Starke and Raiford to Middleburg, Green Cove Springs, Ponte Vedra south to Palatka and St. Augustine...and a tenth or so across Southeast Georgia. Rain will diminish west to east later tonight with areas of fog as lows only drop to between 60 and 65 degrees. Thursday will be warm as skies become partly cloudy with only isolated showers and gusty southwest winds. Highs will top out near 80 degrees. Friday will be another warm, breezy day but with scattered afternoon and evening showers and a few thunderstorms.
