Somer Thompson: Our Thoughts and Prayers

My thoughts and prayers go out to the family. To Diena, don't look at it as the day your life stopped. Look at it as the day life you knew it changed forever. I lost my son in Iraq 3 years ago and yes my life changed forever but it did not end and can not end. I and you do have other children to live for. My heart and prayers are with you. There is no loss greater than the loss of a child.

I believe justice is not served because a killer was caught.What about the mom who left her child to fend for herself in a dangerous world and not protect her.She should have made sure as an adult that her child had adult supervision after school to escort her home if she was at work.the mom says he is a monster but,I feel she is just as responsible for her daughters death as that man.It is called neglect of a minor and the mom gets no simpathy from me and I pray she learns from her mistake and take better care of the rest of her children.

people who do thigns like this to a child or adult should be punished for life. the laws need to change!!!!!we need to let these people know its not right.these people are sick and need professional help.they should not be released, its like leaving a kid in a candy store and telling them to not eat anything.now i look at everyone around me and wonder if this is the person who did this horrible thing.

As someone who has lost a child, I know the their loss and heartbreak. Please let god help you through it. You can't do it by yourselves. God will carry you through

Somer, you beautiful little girl. You will be missed by all who knew you, and all who got to know you through your beautiful, brave mother. No mother should have to bury their child & I can not ever imagine the feelings that go with it. I have buried a mother & a husband, but a child, it is unthinkable.
